Welcome to Professional Dog Training Instructor 2.0

Hello and welcome to Creedons College.

For many of you this won’t be your first time studying with Creedons, so in that case, welcome back!

This course has been designed as a progression course to the Practical Dog Training course.

Prior to approval to provide QQI programmes we delivered a 9 month course, titled Professional Dog Training Instructor (familiar, right?!, lets call it 1.0 for now).
Once we were approved to deliver QQI programmes we selected the QQI Canine Training and Obedience as the required content for that programme was similar to some of the Professional Dog Training Instructor 1.0 modules.
However, as you could imagine, there is far more than simply training dogs a new behaviour involved in becoming a professional trainer. For this reason, when restructuring our courses, we split the Professional Dog Training Instructor 1.0 programme in to two programmes.

The first, the QQI Practical Dog Training course took all of elements of 1.0 that focused on teaching students how to train dogs.

We then kept the elements of 1.0 that focused on teaching students how to train people, and put them in to the Professional Dog Training Instructor 2.0 course that you are about to take.

Each delivery of the programme see’s some modifying, updating, and improvements. Our graduates of the Professional Dog Training Instructor programme all go on to become professional dog trainers and work very successfully within this growing industry, so we hope that you find this course enjoyable, thorough, and graduate feeling prepared and confident to dive right into the world of professional dog training!

The assessment element of this course will be discussed at our classroom sessions, but it has all been designed to help you prepare for your new career, and we hope that each element of your assessments will help to make life easier once you start your career.
