Dog Daycare Theory Distance Learning Programme (DDT) has been designed to provide learners with a foundation understanding of the dog daycare industry. This course is perfect for those interested in pursuing a career in the dog care industry, but are not yet ready to commit fully, or those who are ready to begin their journey toward becoming a dog daycare expert.

This programme is delivered through online webinars, which we believe will maximise the learning of the student, as classes can be attended at a convenient time, without the need to travel to our centre in Cork, and can be paused and re-watched to ensure nothing is missed.
The programme should take approximately 8 weeks to complete, but can be completed at the learners own pace over a maximum of six months.
Online exams are taken at the completion of each module, with maximum of 30 minutes allowed for each exam.

Module 1 Understanding the Dog Daycare Industry
The past, the present and the future of this fascinating, rapidly growing industry.
Module 2 The Ethology of the Modern Dog
This module covers the complexities of where dogs have come from, how they have evolved, and where breed comes in to play in a dog daycare environment.
Module 3 Communicating with Dogs
The ability to continually read and interpret dog body language is essential in a dog daycare environment, in fact it can be the difference between life and death.
It is also vitally important that dog daycare staff also learn how to use their own body language to communicate clearly and efficiently back to dogs. This module is essential to anyone working with dogs.
Module 4 Dog Behaviour in the Daycare Environment
This module covers all the essential information you need to analyse the behaviour of dogs in a daycare environment, from appropriate play, to understanding greetings, and how to recognise and manage inappropriate behaviour.
Module 5 Health and Safety in the Daycare Environment
To minimise any potential risk, it is vitally important that all dog daycare staff priorities health and safety always. This module will help to open your eyes to all the many risks, and how to respond appropriately to keep staff and dogs safe at all times.
Module 6 What to Expect in a Dog Daycare Environment
This module will introduce learners to the different roles, responsibilities, and typical day to day activities of a dog daycare environment.
